Who doesn’t love a superb dining experience?
Exactly! So how does an eight-course degustation menu with a wine match, total value of $1,200, designed by Masterchef’s Simon Gault sound?
Mouthwatering? Delicious? Almost too good to be true? We think so!

The lucky winner will be announced on the blog at midday on Friday 1st June.
As probably NZ’s biggest masterchef fan – who has never missed an episode and talks about it constantly – I think I deserve this entertastement experience so as assist me in my encouragement of my long suffering friends to join the Masterchef bandwagon by letting them see the true magic of Simon Gault up close and personal!
We get out like once a year for birthday OR our anniversary. I would dearly love to show my husband how much I appreicate him cooking me & the kids dinner almost every night after a very long day teaching. He has become a real foodie & it would just mean so much to be able to have someone cook FOR him for a change! I know he would find this experience truly inspiring & the memory would last a lifetime. We do not buy each other gifts for birthdays. We try to give each other experiences & this would be AWESOME!!!
Hi, I deserve to win this for myself as I’m a single mum of two girls aged 7 & 3. I work full-time as a Corporate Account Manager & juggle my life around them. I barely have time to sit down & enjoy a meal/my dinner and most of the time I eat in between cooking their meals. I love good food so this would be the perfect prize 🙂 I hope I win!
I deserve to win the interactive dining experience at euro because I’m an enthusiastic cook and lover of fine food.
I’d love this opportunity to pick up tips and techniques from the masters, plus it’s a fun relaxed way to do it. I recently taught my friends at ‘book/wine club’ how to make gnocchi too.
Also it’s not very often I get down to the waterfront!
‘Entertastement’ I’m going to use that
My Husband and I LOVE to eat out. All of our disposable income in our ten years together has been spent on restaurants. We wear cheap (yet stylish clothing). Our children are constantly complimented on their good behaviour due to a life spent eating out. Trouble is, we now want a 3rd baby. To do this, we must renovate. To renovate, we must SAVE our money. ALL of it. HORROR! One last, luxurious degustation would be the perfect send off to home cooking purgatory…
Because it would be the best present in the world for my husband’s 30th and as a thank-you to the best grandparents in the whole world…(and I could never cook for them myself!)
i would love to win this so me and my mates can have a lovely night away from the kids and enjoy a night we could never imagine being able to afford ever
Oh my god. I love food so much. I watch all the masterchef programs & I have been dying to try one of these tasting menus. I live in Whangarei & when it comes to food we really do miss out most of the time. We have a lovely restaurant up here called A Deco but I am sure the Euro experience would be streaks ahead. Please please please I will tell the wheel the thought of my partner & I coming down there & maybe booking a hotel for the night & having an amazing meal also would just make my year. Cheers (crossing my fingers & toes) Amazing
My boyfriend, mum and I love watching Masterchef and the Master classes. We also talk about whose dish looked the yummy-ist and who should go home. We also enjoy making what we have seen on tv from the website and from the season book.
We also enjoy trying new foods and going to Euro and watching it being made and explained would be the ultimate experience!
I have never eaten at Euro but watch Simon in awe every saturday on the Master Class. I studied food science at university and would love the opportunity to watch the chefs create the dishes, and enjoy the food with some friends. This would truly be a once in a lifetime experience for me!
Not so much that I deserve it, but my wife who every night tries to provide a beautiful meal for me… Being slightly Scottish I am tight and therefore we don’t go out much… This of course is of annoyance as my wife never misses an episode of masterchef nz and au as well as hells kitchen uk and USA. My wife appreciates the fine dining and the nuances of expert chefs creating beautiful dishes.
i think my parents deserve to win this as at the end of the month my Mum is turning 50, but with all the stress of moving house and tidying up and keeping her business running as well as looking after us 2 kids she will not have time to celebrate. The day of her birthday is my ball and the day after is the auction for our house. She deserves this as a break from her stressful life but doesn’t want to slow down in her busy life to acknowledge this!!
Would love to win this amazing food sensation for my husband’s 40th Birthday on 8th June – what an amazing way to celebrate.
FOOD IS MY PASSION and I would LOVE to enjoy a gastronomic feast designed by Simon Gault – I really enjoy watching him on Masterchef and would love the chance to meet him in person. I’ve watched Ray McVinnie cook live and would like to be able to cross another Masterchef judge off my list.
We love Simon Gaults style and energy and would relish (no pun intended) the opportunity to spend the night with him and his lovely wife Katrina (who did my hair for my wedding) at the Chefs table. That aside… we are true foodies, and enjoy trying new and exciting food combinations, experimenting at home and learning new developments in food and cuisine from around the world.
I deserve to win because I can treat my new wife of two weeks. No Honeymoon yet because she has just started a new job.
My fiance and I have loved watching Masterchef and we recently watched the show while she was overseas in Europe and I was watching here at home in Auckland. It was a cool thing to do that brought us closer together even though we were on the other side of the world from each other. The unfortunate thing for us is that Euro has always been slightly out of our price range. This would be perfect for us, if given to us.
My Uncle who we were very close to recently passed away my family needs a bit of fun and happiness I would love to take my dad he loves Simon and Masterchef everyone needs a pick me up after the loss of a brother friend and wonderful uncle. This would just be awesome
BecauseI want to see Simons little cherub like cheeks in person. Just kidding, Im not a masterchef freak fan or whatever – but I was a big fan of the chicken rotisserie rub at Euro back in the day and would love the chance to experience Euro again and see what they are cooking now. My wife and I have just had our first child and it’s about time I gave her a treat as she’s been working so hard – something like this would be an amazing surprise for her!
I would love to win this prize! No doubt that Simon is an awesome chef (and judge on Masterchef too!)
This would be the perfect way to thank my boyfriend’s parents for paying for a holiday at the end of the year!
Simply I adore euro. From the exquisite molten desserts that dance across your taste buds to the inventive and creative food that makes it an auckland icon – euro is my idol.
My life at the moment is far from a symphony. It’s boring as batshit.
I am a new mum and my lust for good food has been extinguished by a stream of nappies and the monotony of domesticity. I have to cook my partner the same old dishes for my partner – who is perfectly reasonable but his taste buds are about to dry up and he may start cheating on me with the local Chinese shop unless I can up my game.
Pick me……
i love master chef and would have loved to enter but as i have early onset pakinsons i couldnt. i love cooking and trying different foods and styles and i think simon gaults food is pretty special. this is the only way i will ever get to try anything he has had anything to do with and it would mean alot to win this.
As a working mother to two preschoolers, it would be nice to have someone cook dinner for a change and not have to do washing up afterwards. Fine dining does not feature as much in my life as I would like and this would be such a treat.
I deserve this entertastement experience because I’ve just finished 6 months of breastfeeding my baby and now allowed to fully indulge! Euro is where we chose to celebrate our anniversary recently over dinner, so it’d be lovely to come back and experience the culinary delights, with matching wines this time.
Wow! I’ve read all of the responses above and they are all reasons I’d love to win this amazing opportunity. But more simply Euro was one of the restaurants my husband and I use to go to to celebrate our special occassions. We now celebrate our special occassions at home with our nearly 5 year old and twin nearly 3 year olds. Our single income, and twin expenses means our budget no longer stretches to devine dinning. What an amazing treat this would be. Thanks for the opportunity to enter!
I am in the same boat as Kristina Pham. Single mom who’s life revolves around kids and work. I would love a meal for grown ups and have a night off. If I win Kristina, you are coming with me 🙂 We deserve it.
Very special occassion coming up and being a single mum, it’s not often I get to indulge…what better venue than this? I have heard all amazing things about this place, and really appreciate fine dining
I believe that I deserve this entertastement experience as my birthday is approaching in 20 days and I am going to Europe in September so I would really like to try the european food at Euro. Also, my sister is arriving from Dunedin just for my birthday and it would be great to celebrate my birthday with my family at an outstanding restaurant. We are not able to go out regularly to dinner in the Auckland CBD as we live on the outskirts of Auckland, close to Bombay, and only travel into the city for a special occasion. None of my family have ever tried the food at Euro so it would be a great delight to finally try the exquisite food that a lot of people rave about.
Why do I deserve this? Easy. Because for my birthday dinner last year my boyfriend was supposed to take me out, but he got far too drunk and passed out by 9pm (yes, he was severely told off…). I still haven’t got my birthday dinner and now he’s in Sydney waiting for me to move over there in another 2 months. Since I have to save every cent I can incase I can’t get a job as soon as I arrive, I can’t even take myself out for my very belated birthday dinner so I’ve been staying home eating cheap meals. I need pampering. Help!
I would love to win this treat! As a gluten intolerant person who can only tolerate a small amount of dairy the possibility of going out for an 8 course degustation menu seems more like a dream then a reality. I think if i won this it would be a great challenge for the chef to flex his culinary muscles with regard to food intolerances and an amazing once in a life time experience for me.
There are 3 reasons why I think I should win this experience.
1. I am dating a new guy who seems lovely in every way. I would be considered the most amazing new partner if I won us this most amazing degustation!
2. I am an amazing secondary school teacher who is overworked and underpaid. I love my job and my students but this term in very busy and I could do with some pampering right now.
This weekend I will be catering for 80 young kids & officers at a sea cadet camp and as much as I love cooking for them it would be truly wonderful to have someone cook for me, see how the pros do it!
I would love this chance to show my partner how proud I am of her and to give her a break from what has been a very stressful couple of months. She is a social worker on the Northshore working with troubled youth, has had to deal with a grandparent death, her mother being diagnosed with cancer and me working 12 hour days, 6 days a week. I would use this chance to show her than she is the most beautiful person in the world, both physically and emotionally!
Would love to take my wife to this amazing experience. She has worked hard over the last few months looking after her father who is very unwell while working long hours as a pediatric nurse herself.
Because I’ve always had a crush on Simon Gault, he’s tasty as bro!
I’m with Miss Delicious, except it’s my hubby with the total man-crush on Simon!
This looks awesome! Who doesn’t love a superb dining experience? Nobody, well probably the guy who doesn’t get to eat but just washes the dishes, he gets no credit, just all the crap.
Mouthwatering? Delicious? Almost too good to be true? Oh you betcha! Though I probably wont be able to apprciate it since my tastebuds have been burn and desensitized by too much sugar and salt in takeaways.
So why do I deserve to win this? To be perfectly honest, I do not. As mentioned earlier, a lot of folks would love it more than me due to my damaged taste buds, and I don’t even watch Masterchef, let alone know who Mr Simon Gault is. I’m sure he’s a fantastic Toqued man and I wish him well, but nevertheless I thought it would be fun to try and join and give it a go but be as honest as possible.
I’ll tell you what I’ll do If I win. I’ll probably call a friend and invite her to dinner with me, then book it as soon as the following weekend. Then I’d check in the restaurant with an undeserved self-congratulating line for winning something that I don’t remotely deserve. Then I’d take photos of the meals as they are being served using instagram cause the facebook camera app sucks. Then I’ll consume each course to stick it up anyone and everyone who has less than me, licking the juices off every bone. I’ll probably enjoy all the likes, and comments on facebook more than the meal itself considering how damaged my tastebuds are. Then I’ll act insincerely grateful for such an amazing meal all the while wondering if Sal’s pizza is still open. Afterwards, I’ll take my lady friend home, who has been thoroughly impressed and pampered, and have my way with her.
Afterwards, my fantastic entertastement experience will be the subject of most of my conversations for the next 6 months, in which in turn would bore all my friends and family. I’ll probably dine in again with a different lady friend who would be enthralled by my story about my experience.
I’ve recently had spinal fusion and as such have been stuck indoors. It would be great to take my wife out and have a special night
I would dearly love to win this as it would be the treat of my life! I turn 50 in 4 weeks time and this would be the bestest reward 🙂 I love watching Simon Gault on Masterchef and to have a meal cooked by him…priceless!!
I am the definition of a die hard foodie. I am completely and utterly food obsessed. I would love to be able to dine at Euro, and even better to dine at the Chefs table – it would be a fantastic learning experience!! I would hope to pick up on lots of tips and tricks as well as be able to ask the chefs questions!
I’m entering my wonderful boyfriend to win this ‘entertasetement’ experience. I believe he truly deserves this as he is obsessed with cooking, watching Masterchef and anything related to being in the kitchen.
I have had kidney failure since I was 17 (am 23 now) and do dialysis 4 times a week. My boyfriend has been an absolute blessing in disguise and has cooked for me basically every night for the last 3 years despite working a fulltime job. He has been a rock for me through thick and thin and I truly want him to have this amazing experience because it’s the least I can do to show him how much he is appreciated. <3
Good luck to everyone!
I am a Gaultaholic – particularly on business trips to Wellington which have to include Pravda and that amazing date salad. I am a complete foodie and would soak up every word of advice and guidance that the chef dispenses with the food. I would probably take my 16 year old son instead of my husband. He got called up onstage at the Foodshow to be chef’s assistant to a very sick Simon Gault, and is far more likely to try and recreate the recipes than hubby.
Wow lots of good reasons people up there should win but I will throw my hat in the ring.
I would like to win because I think my husband is the best cook in the entire world, I’m tired of being disappointed when we go out to eat and I want to see some real competition. That’s one reason.
Another is that he is turning 50 and an experience like this would more than make up for the fact that I can’t get Paul McCartney to play at his party.
Kind regards, Mrs Kenney
My papa hates eating out cause the music is too loud, the food is never as good as what my mama makes etc etc etc. Where as my mama LOVES going out.
I’d hope to win to gift it to them to enjoy out! Having a Masterchef cook for my papa might sway him to go out and to enjoy it!
Hi GrabOne,
I was stoked to see the Euro deal today as it’s my favourite restaurant in Auckland. I deserve to win this “entertastement” because as much as I’m obsessed with fine dining and creating cuisine-inspired meals, I don’t think any of my friends or family understand my culinary fixation! This would be my chance to share the love of all things food–with any luck they’ll be hooked and want to make dining out a regular event.
Great promotion–keep up the awesome work!
I could say I’m a big Masterchef fan – but everyone already said it. I could say I’m a big foodie – but everyone already said that too. I could say that I’m a mum with a feisty kid and have no time for myself – I saw someone else said that too. I could say I help kids and people in the community – far, I’m late on that one too. Hang on, I’ve been ill and – ARGH, someone said that too. How about my gorgeous husband of 10 years? Far, that’s not new too.
I guess I should deserve it because I had every single reason combined into one and I should’ve been the first one to comment in here. But it turns out my reasons are all on this wall already. What a super woman I am.
Apart from the guy who had the spine surgery. I didn’t have that. I wish him better!
What…. only 38 entries so far! I’m all over those odds. Bring on a yummy taste experience :o) PS. Here’s my sob story. Blah. Blah Sob story. Blah, blah.
This would be a great treat for myself and 3 of the ladies in my coffee group (all have babies born in November 2011)! We’re just getting/finishing cutting the first two teeth and we all look like zombies after the terrible time the babies have had with it! It would be fantastic to be able to “tap out” for the night and have a fabulous dining experience sans babies.
There are plenty of reason why I deserve this they are as follows in no specific order.
Me and my wife are about to become first time parents in only eight weeks.
Due to the above there wont be much dinning out coming for a while.
i am a huge foodie and food is my life.
I have been wanting to go to euro for a while but the dollar rules!
my wife deserves the night out as she has been carrying a human being for 7 months and is very tired.
I missed the grabone today as i was in work and it sold out.
There is a slim (very slim i hope) chance of the baby coming early and if this happens during dinner that would be great publicity for euro and i may even name my child after them! LOL!! Is that enough reasons?
Because I am 14 weeks pregnant. I have been sick and sleepy for the past 3 months! My husband Josh was hit by a car almost 2 months ago. He was hospitalised and badly hurt. He lived but lost a finger. We hope when our baby comes in November, he’d be able to walk and hold the baby. We haven’t been out since the car accident. It would be an amazing experience if we win this, as a celebration of his survival and our first baby! Please. Thank you 🙂
i’d give away 3 of the seats to a charity ( not to be made public here ) and ask them either to donate them to the most deserving volunteer that they know, or auction them off to raise money for the charity. I think having a divine dining experience with three complete strangers would be awesome.
There are lots of deserving people on here so I almost feel bad entering but I was gutted that I missed out on the GrabOne deal today so thought I would give it a go. I would love to win this for myself and my husband as we have just got married and are on a bit of a comedown after all of the excitement so it would be lovely to have something to look forward to and would be a great way to celebrate our new life together. We are both massive foodies so it would be the perfect treat!
I wanted to take mum there for mothers day as she has always wanted to go but she wanted to spend the money on other family members for their birthday instead which we have 3 in may. She likes cooking all the master chef recipes and family come round every week to eat what she cooks. It would be good if she didn’t have to cook one night for everyone else. and to have someone cook it for her instead.
Because I cook every single meal in our house that going out to dinner is my idea of heaven.
Please, please, please, a meal for me + three, and better yet a meal for free
A meal for our tastbuds to explode, without the credit card getting a load.
A meal at Euro, designed by a fabulous chef, with no expletives starting with ‘F’
A night to remember for us four, with no littlies throwing peas on the floor.
Treats have been fish & chips on the beach, so we don’t want to be seen as a leech.
We would’ve loved to have brought it on ‘GrabOne’ but the ole bank account dollars was none.
An entertastement experience would be held so dear, so how about it Euro & GrabOne? Don’t let me shed a tear 😉
I would like to win this not for myself or my wife but for 2 lovely lady’s that have been there when we needed them. my wife was told she had breast cancer 2.5 years ago and these to lady’s were there when we needed them the most, from making dinner for us guys or just someone to talk to. it would nice to say thank you in this way.
Congratulations Kim Johnston! You will be enjoying your husbands 40th Birthday at Euro 🙂
