Kidsline Grabs a new Buddy

Sometimes it’s better to give than receive – so this Christmas GrabOne is making a difference where it counts, by teaming up with Kidsline, raising funds to help, support and empower the children of New Zealand. To mark the occasion, we’re launching a donation campaign that you can support, by Donating $5, $10, $20 or $50 to keep Kidsline doing what they do best.

Help make a difference for Kiwi Kids in need

Kidsline currently answer in excess of 5,000 phone calls a year, but rely 100% on the donations and sponsorship of sponsors like GrabOne and generous grabbies like yourself. This means every little bit counts. By donating just $5, $10, $20 or $50 you too can help make a difference for kids who need someone there. Kids who, according to Lifeline Aotearoa’s CEO Jo Denvir “Often feel they have no-one else they can talk to, and can be very distressed.” 100% off all proceeds from this campaign will go towards ensuring every call is answered by a buddy who is sympathetic, trustworthy and trained to help.

What’s so special about Kidsline?

Kidsline is uniquely about kids being there for other kids. A long running service of Lifeline Aotearoa,  Kidsline are a completely independent and registered not for profit. With the help of donations and sponsors, it’s their mission to help, support and empower the children of New Zealand. They have over 70 highschool age telephone volunteers known as “buddies” (just a few years older than the callers) who are more like a sympathetic older brother or sister, closer to understanding what they’re experiencing and feeling themselves. That makes them the only neer-peer child helpline in the world where every counselor is close in age to their own peer group. Kidsline receive no Government funding.
