Get in my belly, birthday cake!
When you turned four, your mum made you the most amazing train birthday cake, complete with liquorice railway tracks and carriages loaded with pebbles. These days you’re lucky if your mum even remembers you’re getting old(er).
Gimme likes cake too. Help celebrate our second birthday by baking him a cake.
How do I win $100 credit?
It’s pretty simple really: bake us something awesome (maybe with a GrabOne theme?) and send a pic of it – as well as the recipe – to grabbie@grabone.co.nz (or hey, if you feel like delivering it to GrabOne HQ in Auckland, we’re pretty sure we’ll find someone to sample it).
And that’s it, you are in the competition!
Entries will be judged on presentation, style, effort and hopefully taste if you deliver it to our door.
Get in quick though: entries close at 5pm on Thursday 19th July and the winner will be announced at midday Friday 20th on our Facebook page.
Lovely days..When you could make a simple birthday cake with pebbles and lollies..Still stick to that if making a cake for the grandchildren now instead of my 5 growing up..
Sometime simple is best! Especially with Blue Pebbles!
LMAO – you guys just want a heap of cakes turning up at GrabHG so you can scoff yourselves senseless! Love it!! Marketing and self indulgence all in one :o)
who.. us? (unsuccessfully attempts to look innocent…) 🙂
Any special dietary requirements we should be aware of? ^_^
No – we eat alllll kinds of cake! 🙂
hmmmm… sounds like an excellent excuse for a good baking day! Unfortunately for you, sending cake from Chch is a little awkward though….
That’s ok – you can just send us the picture and the recipe! That is what we are judging from 🙂
Where is your Auckland HQ? In the CBD??
It’s Level 2, 109 Carlton Gore Road, Newmarket! Wow – we may actually get a cake? cool!
hmm… feeling quite excited about the cake I’ve come up with, now I just have to make it & maybe deliver it… maybe… XD
Well now WE are all excited too! Ahh – suspense! 🙂
i dont think it should be based on taste at all, as us poor chch people cant get the cake to you 🙁
Ha ha – don’t worry Alana, we were being cheeky hinting we wanted cake. The competition will be judged on criteria all areas of NZ can achieve. Can’t wait to see what you come up with! 🙂
i never got fancy cakes like this
Sometimes simple is best. Why don’t you send us a pic of your favourite cake / recipe? It can be as simple or as decadent as you like. 🙂
damn, something’s come up & I won’t be able to decorate it until friday now. I’ll be baking it tomorrow, so I can send in the recipe & a pic of the undecorated cake, but can I send in a pic of it decorated on friday? I am planning on bringing it in to you… Please?
Hi Katyanne, we would love that but the competition would have been drawn by then! 🙁
So I didn’t manage to even bake my cake, but I’ll tell you what you would have got from me if I’d been able to do it. I was planning on doing a giant cupcake cake, with the bottom of the cupcake being a chocolate cake with lindt fleur de sal chocolate melted through & in chunks through it. the top would have been a raspberry flavoured cake, coloured blue, and with marshmallows mixed through it. they would have been ‘glued’ together with hazelnut spread, and the base would have been iced with white buttercream, and the top with blue buttercream. It would have been decorate simply with white sprinkles and a blue ‘2’ candle… sigh. it would have been a beautiful piece… 🙁
Wow that does sound amazing! There will be another baking comp at some point I’m sure, def enter that. You get the prize for best imaginary cake! Yum! 🙂
