GrabOne and NZ online T-Shirt store Mr Vintage have joined forces to bring you a tee like no other. It’s the official GrabOne protytype tee (Version 1.0.). Close cousin to the tank top, the crew neck, the polo and the scoop neck…it’s also a distant relation to the multicoloured tiedyed hippie tee and the cropped 80’s hipster comeback. Underdeveloped, over loved.. and designed with our fellow Grabbies in mind.
We’re making a point of getting everyone involved in its evolution. By using the power of the GrabOne universe to help us refine the details, we hope we can turn it into something Grabbies will love.
So, a few weeks ago, we kicked this off by giving our Facebook fans a sneak peek of the design. Heaps of people came back with great comments and suggestions on how to move forward from here. For the next stage, we’re running design competition. We reckon this’ll help source everyone’s opinion on what we should do with version 2.0 and beyond. Cos just like it didn’t Leonardo a couple of days to create the Mona Lisa it’ll take a bit before we get to a shirt that feels juuuust right.
Competition is now over. Thanks for all of your entries! We’ll be making our decision shortly. Good luck!
Think you’d like to win one of our limited edition prototypes? We’ve got 30 to give away. All you have to do is read down to the BOTTOM of this post and check how to enter.
Still wondering what we’re on about? Hopefully the questions below will have your questions answered.
You’re a frickin deal site. Why would you need a shirt?
What would we be without one? Like a rose that has no name we’d be pretty lost without or very own shirt. Besides, what else would we give out when we have random ideas for giveaways? Bottlecaps?
How long before you decide you have the one?
This, just like Harry Potter, will take time for us to figure out. The one which is “the one” to rule them all…is something we’ll decide on together. And you’ll all be invited to make that decision with us.
Can I buy a shirt?
Not at this stage. But that is something we’ll have a think about for the future.
What can I do to get a shirt?
Well we will start by posting Grabbie contests on the blog here and tell you what you can do to enter. Be sure to come back and check the blog regularly to find out what contest we are running, cos this blog will be square one for whatever contests we run in future.
Have they been tested on animals?
Why, funny you mention that. What would a prototype be without a few grabbie guinea-pigs to trial it out for us?
Grabbies are not exactly animals, of course. But you know what I mean. We tweeted out a challenge to test the waters trial out a few of our prototype batch. And we got a lot of folk come back to us keen to get their hands on a prototype tee of their very own. We posted them out to 30 lucky winners. One of those was the lovely Jade, who came back in a burst of creativity with this little design on her blog (pictured below) Cheers Jade!
