I chatted to the spa’s manager, Nikki, over a cup of herbal tea about what makes Forme Spa special.

One of Nikki’s favourite treatments is the Bioelements facial. Consisting of a cleanse, exfoliation, tone, masque, massage of the face, neck and shoulders, moisturiser and complimentary mineral makeup, Nikki reckons clients’ skin looks instantly brighter and firmer after just one facial.
“The facial includes the Bioelements products, which is a skin care range from the US. There are upgrades available for specialised facials as well – calming facials, stressed solutions which will help a really stressed person. You can also upgrade to specialised facials as well, like the oxogenation facial and all our peels – we do a pumice peel and Flaxx-c facial as well so there’s lots of advanced options if you’re targeting a specific problem, and we can give skin care prescriptions to follow up at home.”
One of the most popular treatments is the hot stone massage. “They use heat to release tension and relax as well, which helps muscles relax so you get the full benefit of the massage. It’s a really luxurious treatment, especially for this time of year, because it’s really warming.”
And if you’re after something a little different, the bamboo massage could be a great option. “Warmed bamboo rods help roll out all the tension in the muscles. It’s good if you’re feeling tense, but you don’t really like sports massage, which can be quite painful. The bamboo massage is quite relaxing, but you’re getting the benefits of massage as well.”
